Kanta Nomura / 野村 幹太
京都府南丹市生まれ。東京・高円寺在住。写真家。同志社大学法学部卒業。
商社、スタジオ勤務ののちノーベル賞作家ガルシア・マルケスの物語の舞台になった土地や生誕の地、コロンビア・アラカタカを拠点に南米北部を放浪。帰国後、同志社小劇場在籍時に知った京都大学吉田寮の記録を始める。
2020年、写真集「吉田寮学生寄宿舎史」が完成。
写真集はParis-Photo Aperture photobook AwardやLes Rencontres d’Arlesなど海外のbook awardsで高い評価を得ている。
Kanta Nomura
Born in Nantan City, Kyoto. Lives and works in Koenji, Tokyo. Photographer. Graduated from Doshisha University, Faculty of Law.
He got to know Yoshida Dormitory when he attended a play at the Kyoto University Yoshida Dormitory cafeteria while a student at Doshisha Little Theatre.
After working for a trading company, he wandered around northern South America, using Aracataca, Colombia, as a base, where the Nobel Prize-winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez was born and where his stories were set. After returning to Japan, he began documenting the Yoshida dormitory around 2008.
In 2020, he completed a photo book entitled “The Yoshida Dormitory Students’ History.
The book has been highly acclaimed in book awards abroad, including the Paris-Photo Aperture photobook award and Les Rencontres d’Arles.
